Place Bellecour is a 13-minute walk, and Lyon's Museum of Fine Arts is a 12-minute drive. The surrounding area on Place Carnot is safe and relatively quiet at night, with a park opposite that provides a pleasant outlook. Multiple restaurants and cafés are within a few minutes' walk along Rue Mercière, and the city centre is reachable on foot in about 20 minutes.

Room types include single, double, twin, triple and quadruple options. Upper floors are accessible by lift. Rooms are compact - some with very limited space for luggage and no wardrobe, which makes them more suited to short stays. Beds may be spring-based and can be noisy; some mattresses show signs of wear. Air conditioning is available but may not cool effectively, especially in summer. The private bathroom is small, with a shower bath combination; some bathrooms have drainage or seal issues. Road-facing rooms can be noisy from street and train sounds - rooms facing Place Carnot are quieter and offer a balcony with a view.
