Part-Dieu Train Station is 2 km away and Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport is 20 km away. The quickest airport transfer is the Rhônexpress train to Part-Dieu, then a 15-minute walk or a short metro ride on line B to Saxe station. Several bus and tram lines also serve the area. While the hostel is within walking distance of the historic centre, the immediate neighbourhood-a lively, multicultural area-feels less safe after dark, particularly for solo women. It is best to use the metro for late returns, as the streets can feel empty or unpredictable. Parking is available but limited near the property.

Guestrooms and dormitories come with either private or shared bathroom facilities; some rooms also feature garden views. Bed linen is included, and towels can be rented. Private rooms are notably quiet and spacious, with comfortable beds and a cosy feel. Dormitory layouts can be cramped, particularly in 8-bed rooms, and the creaky, unstable bunk beds can disturb sleep when others move. No air conditioning is available, though fans are provided on request; in summer, rooms can become very hot. Sound insulation is poor-noise from the hallway, courtyard and neighbouring rooms travels easily under doors and through thin walls. Light sleepers should bring earplugs. Upper bunks lack privacy curtains, while lower bunks offer some. Lockers in rooms are large enough for a small case.

The all-you-can-eat buffet (€10) is served from 7:00 to 10:00 and includes bread, jams, croissants, cereal, fruit juice and hot drinks. While the selection is basic and can feel repetitive, it is adequate for a filling start to the day. The on-site bar offers local beers, wines and a range of snacks, including toasted sandwiches for a light meal. Guests are not permitted to consume their own alcohol on the premises. For those wanting a fuller variety, numerous restaurants, cafes and pizzerias are within a very short walk, including several around 300 metres away.

The outdoor courtyard is a valued, relaxing space for reading, eating or socialising. Indoors, the shared lounge doubles as a living area. Organised activities include guided tours and walking tours (additional charge), as well as board games and evening entertainment provided free of charge. Bicycle rental is available for an extra cost, and bicycles can be stored safely on site. There is no swimming pool, spa or gym.

A 24-hour reception allows for flexible arrival, including after midnight. Free luggage storage is available both before check-in and after check-out, with the option to store bikes securely.
