HU ROMA CAMPING IN TOWN, Rome

The campsite is located 5 km from Vatican City and 6 km from central Rome. Buses 246 and 247 stop at the gate and take you to Cornelia metro station (Line A) in about 10 minutes, from where you can reach all major sights. A paid shuttle service runs to Cipro metro station (600 m from the Vatican Museums) every 30 minutes for €5 round trip. Alternatively, walk 1 km to Roma Aurelia railway station for a direct train to Termini and Tiburtina stations (hourly service). The nearest major airport is Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino (FCO); take the Leonardo Express to Termini, then metro Line A to Cornelia, then bus. Parking is free on site for one vehicle per accommodation. The surrounding area includes a large supermarket across the street, a McDonald's nearby, and a few restaurants within walking distance. Public transport is generally reliable during the day but can be infrequent after 10 pm, so plan accordingly.

All accommodation types have private bathrooms (shower, toilet, hairdryer) and are air-conditioned (heating available in winter). Bed linen and towels are provided. Bungalows (hu stay) are compact and basic - they have no kitchen, fridge, kettle, or TV in standard versions. Some bungalows are attached to neighbouring units, and soundproofing is minimal; noise from adjacent rooms or the pool area can be noticeable. Chalets (hu stay Premium) are larger, with separate bedrooms, a kitchen (stovetop, microwave, fridge), and a terrace with garden furniture. Glamping tents (hu Glamp Smart) are romantic but practical, with air conditioning and a private bathroom. Pitches are available for tents, caravans, and motorhomes. The accommodation is spread across a hillside; some units require climbing stairs. Luggage can be heavy to carry, but a buggy service is available (may involve waiting). Rooms are generally clean on arrival, but housekeeping is only provided on request for an extra fee, and supplies like toilet paper are limited to two rolls initially.

Breakfast is available for an additional charge of €12 per person, offering a continental buffet with cappuccino, croissant, fruit juice, and pastries. The restaurant Rione is open for dinner (18:30-22:30) and serves traditional Italian and Roman dishes such as pasta carbonara, pizza, and grilled meats. Aperitifs and drinks are served at the bar from 6:30 to 23:00. The pool bar operates from April to September (10:00-19:00) and offers snacks, drinks, and gelato. The minimarket on site sells fresh bread, fruit, vegetables, toiletries, and drinks. For self-catering, a large supermarket is located directly across the street. Note that the restaurant can be busy during peak times, and service may be slow. Kids' meals are available, and special diet menus can be requested. The restaurant also charges a cover charge (coperto) typical of Italian dining.

The pool is open from approximately May to September, depending on the weather (it is unheated). It is surrounded by umbrellas and deck chairs. Two whirlpool tubs are available for relaxation. The pool area is supervised by lifeguards during opening hours. Additional leisure facilities include a basketball/football court, table tennis (equipment rental at reception), and a children's playground with slides and swings. In high season, entertainment includes live music, DJ sets, and fitness courses at the pool. The campsite also offers guided tours to Florence (every Wednesday) and Pompeii/Naples (bookable on site), but these involve additional costs not included in the accommodation price. Quiet hours are enforced from 23:00, so loud activities stop by then.

Parking is free for one vehicle per accommodation in designated spaces near the units; a parking pass is issued on arrival. Wi-Fi is free but only accessible in the restaurant, reception, and pool area - not in the rooms. The 24-hour reception can assist with check-in, lost property, tour information, and selling public transport tickets. Luggage storage is available free of charge. Laundry costs €6 for a wash (including soap) and €4 for drying. A paid shuttle service runs to both Fiumicino and Ciampino airports (€15 per person one way, book 48 hours in advance). An ATM is located next to reception. Safety deposit boxes are available in some accommodation types (hu stay Smart XS, Premium, and hu Glamp Smart) and rental lockers at reception. The campsite has 24-hour security, CCTV, and a lifeguard at the pool. Pets are allowed with a mandatory supplement. The campsite is accessible for wheelchair users (accessible bungalows available on request), and the reception, restaurant, and pool area have step-free access.
