CASA ANITA, Puerto Vallarta

Situated on the main southbound highway, the hotel is a 10-minute drive from central Puerto Vallarta and 10 km from the international airport. The Romantic Zone with its shops, restaurants, and Los Muertos Beach is a 5-7 minute walk (about three blocks). Cafés, bars, and restaurants are clustered along the oceanfront within 0.5 km. The walk to the beach involves descending a set of stairs. Walking along the highway is practical during the day but feels less safe at night due to narrow sidewalks and fast traffic; a short Uber ride is recommended after dark. Free on-site parking is available, making car travel easier. The nearby Colectivo bus stop provides access to the city.

Room types range from junior suites and one-bedroom suites to two-bedroom suites and a three-bedroom penthouse. All suites have a king-size bed (one-bedroom suites can also have two single beds), private balcony with bay views, and a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette. Two-bedroom suites have a king bed in each room plus a pull-out couch in the living room. Most rooms lack air conditioning-only two-bedroom suites come with A/C, though an upgrade to a suite with A/C is available for $10 USD per day at arrival. Rooms near the highway are affected by constant road noise; requesting a room farther from the road is advisable for light sleepers. The building has no elevator, and many rooms are reached by steep stairs-junior suites are on the 4th or 5th floor. The standard room (Anita 3) involves about 90-100 steps. Ceiling fans are provided but may not be sufficient during hot weather. Some rooms have limited hot water supply (approx. 6 minutes for a shower). Furniture and décor are basic and older, but rooms are kept clean by daily housekeeping.

Casa Anita does not have a restaurant. Every suite includes a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette with a stovetop, refrigerator, kitchenware, and oven, allowing self-catering. Three barbecue areas are available on the property for outdoor cooking. For eating out, cafés, bars, and restaurants are concentrated within a 0.5 km walk along the oceanfront, including Fredy's Tucan, Coco's Kitchen, and Salud Super Food. Breakfast options are limited on site; guests can cook their own or visit nearby cafés. Wine and champagne are available for purchase at the property.

The hotel offers two swimming pools: a rooftop pool with a view (open all year) and a salt-water heated pool (also open all year). Both have shallow ends and sun loungers. The pools are often in shade, so water can be cold-the heated pool is a better option for swimming. A hot tub is located on the terrace. For wellness, spa facilities include a range of massages (back, foot, full body, couples, head, neck, hand) and beauty services (facial treatments, body scrubs, manicure, pedicure, hair treatments). Spa/wellness packages are available. Additional leisure activities include bike tours, walking tours, and golf (within 3 km, for an extra charge). Hiking, cycling, fishing, snorkeling, diving, and horseback riding are available off-site.

Wi-Fi is free in all areas but works best on balconies and in public areas; signal can be weak inside rooms. Free public parking is available on site with no reservation needed. The 24-hour front desk offers concierge service, currency exchange, and tour desk. Luggage storage is free. Airport shuttle is available for an additional fee ($15 USD per person, minimum 2 people). Car hire and bicycle rental are also offered for a fee. Daily housekeeping is free; laundry service is available for an additional charge. Safety features include 24-hour security, key access, safety deposit box (free), smoke alarms, and fire extinguishers. Babysitting/child services and board games are available. No pets are allowed.
