CASCADE LODGE, Whistler

The lodge is positioned at the quieter edge of the village, offering easy access to the bustle without being in the middle of it. Whistler Medals Plaza and Whistler Sliding Centre are within a few minutes on foot. Vancouver Coal Harbour Seaplane Base is 100 km away. The free village bus stops nearby, which is useful when carrying ski gear. Underground parking is available for CAD 26 per day, but spaces are tight for larger vehicles. The grocery store is also just a block away, making self-catering straightforward.

Accommodation ranges from studios to larger suites. Each room comes with a well-equipped kitchenette including a stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, and cookware. The private bathroom includes a bath, shower, hairdryer, and free toiletries. Televisions with cable channels and on-demand programming are provided. Some rooms feature a private balcony with views of the mountains or garden. Carpeted floors and wardrobes are standard. While some units feel dated, others have been recently refreshed. Light sleepers may want to avoid rooms near elevators or high-traffic hallways due to noise. Rooms are not serviced daily, so plan accordingly for longer stays.

Cascade Lodge does not provide any on-site meal service or breakfast. Each room is equipped with a full kitchenette, making self-catering a convenient option. The grocery store is less than a block away. For those who prefer to eat out, the village offers a wide range of dining within a 3-5 minute walk, including The Brickworks Public House, Hy's Steakhouse Whistler, Araxi Restaurant & Oyster Bar, and Elements. No room service is available.

The outdoor heated pool is open from 09:00 to 22:00, with two adjacent hot tubs that remain open until 22:00 - a welcome relief after a day of skiing or hiking. A sauna is also available, though access to the sauna in the female changing room has sometimes been unreliable. The fitness centre is compact but functional. All wellness facilities require a staff member to unlock the area before 09:00. The pool area offers mountain views and is a popular spot for relaxation.

WiFi is free throughout the property. A 24-hour front desk can assist with check-in and queries, though some visitors have found reception variable in responsiveness. Free luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures. A guest laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer is available at a low cost. Ski and snowboard storage is provided on-site, convenient for quick gear access. An Avis car rental desk is located in the lobby. Elevators serve the building, but the two lifts can be slow during peak times. Payment for on-site parking is handled through an app. No daily housekeeping is provided, and rooms are not cleaned during stays.
