CHATEAU HOTEL, New Orleans

The hotel sits directly between Jackson Square (5-minute walk) and Bourbon Street, placing it within easy walking distance of top attractions, restaurants, and nightlife. The French Market and numerous dining options are a 2-3 minute stroll away. The Louisiana Superdome is a 10-minute drive. The immediate area is lively, with walking tours and street performers, so rooms facing the street can experience noise until late; courtyard-facing rooms are quieter. For airport transfers, fixed-rate taxis ($36 for two) are recommended, as there is no hotel shuttle.

Room types include standard, Superior King (with extra square footage), and suites with separate living areas. All rooms feature air conditioning, heating, a safe deposit box, ironing facilities, and a flat-screen TV. Some rooms offer views of the courtyard or the French Quarter, and rooms with balconies are available. The Superior King and suite categories are recommended for more space. Smaller rooms (petite) may lack windows and can feel humid. Courtyard rooms are quieter; street-facing rooms may have significant noise from pedestrian traffic. The building has no elevator, so guests with mobility concerns should request a ground-floor room during booking.

The courtyard features a fountain and an outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by lounge chairs and tables, offering a peaceful retreat from the busy French Quarter. The pool is not heated. This area is a central social and relaxation point for the hotel, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploration. There is no spa or fitness centre on site.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi in all areas and a 24-hour front desk with concierge services to assist with tour bookings and recommendations. Daily housekeeping is provided, and free luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures. Safety features include key fob access, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and a safe deposit box in each room. Private parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis for $35-50 per night, in a lot adjacent to the hotel. Taxi service to the airport is a standard $36 flat rate for two people.
