The Chelsea Inn occupies a townhouse in one of Manhattan's most central and safe neighborhoods. The 14th Street subway station (lines 1, 2, 3, F, M, L) is 4 minutes away, and Union Square (with further subway connections) is 7 minutes on foot. Greenwich Village is a 5-minute walk. The area is packed with dining options: The Hummus & Pita Co, Basta Pasta, and Scampi are all within 0.5 km. Major attractions, shopping, and nightlife are easily walkable or a short subway ride. Parking is not available on-site, but several paid garages operate within a few blocks.

Guest rooms are compact but functional, reflecting the historic townhouse building. Most rooms contain a queen-size bed; triple rooms include a fold-out sofa or bunk bed. Each room comes with air conditioning (often centrally controlled and can be noisy), heating (similarly loud and difficult to regulate), a flat-screen TV with cable, a safe, and a wardrobe. Bathrooms may be private en-suite or shared with one other room; shared bathroom rooms have a sink inside the room. Some rooms are windowless, leading to a cramped feel. Noise from the street, the basement bar (open until late), and thin walls is common - rooms on higher floors and away from the front door are quieter. There is no elevator, so rooms on the 4th or 5th floor require climbing narrow stairs. Beddings and mattresses vary; some are older and may be less comfortable.

The Chelsea Inn does not operate a restaurant, but guests can enjoy complimentary coffee (Keurig) and packaged snacks at the reception area. Each room has a coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave for preparing simple meals. The surrounding Chelsea neighborhood is dense with restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores (including a Trader Joe's nearby). Breakfast is not a standard offering, though some room packages may include it - confirm at booking.

The inn offers free Wi-Fi throughout, though connectivity can be unreliable at times. Check-in is entirely contactless via door codes sent before arrival; a virtual front desk is available by phone during daytime hours (typically 9am-6pm). Luggage storage is possible on arrival day from 9am to 3pm, but not after checkout. A security deposit of $150 is held on the card, and a one-time cleaning fee of $60 applies. Daily housekeeping is not included but can be arranged for $35 per service. Safety features include CCTV, smoke alarms, and a safe deposit box in each room.
