Situated right on the oceanfront, the hotel provides direct beach access via a dune deck and a side path. The location is centered on the Outer Banks, making it convenient for reaching attractions such as the Wright Brothers National Memorial (under 5 km) and Roanoke Sound (21 km). Numerous dining options are within a 5-minute walk, including Mama Kwan's Grill, Pigman's Bar-B-Que, and a pizza place across the street. Parking is free and available on-site, with an overflow lot across the street for larger vehicles or trailers.

Room categories include Ocean View (2nd-4th floor, private balcony), Ocean Front (1st floor, patio with direct beach access but dune-blocked view), and Standard street-side rooms. Some street-side rooms also have balconies. All rooms offer a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, ironing facilities, and a hairdryer. Bed configurations include king and two full-size beds (not queen). The property is older and shows signs of wear; noise from hallways and the A/C unit can be noticeable. The twin-elevator system (one to the 1st floor, a second to upper floors) can be cumbersome with luggage.

Breakfast is served daily from 6:30 to 9:30. The outdoor swimming pool is open seasonally from late May through October, featuring a fence, shallow end, and pool towels. Sun loungers and umbrellas are provided free of charge. The fitness center has two exercise machines and a set of mismatched small weights; there is no treadmill. A sun terrace, picnic area, and outdoor furniture are available for relaxation. The adjacent dog park is fenced and well-maintained. Note that the pool steps lack slip-resistant treads, which can be a slipping hazard. No spa or wellness center is on-site.

Wi-Fi is free in all areas. On-site private parking is free but requires a reservation; an overflow lot is across the street.
