COMFORT INN ST CATHARINES, Saint Catharines

The hotel is centrally located for exploring the Niagara region. Niagara Falls is roughly 25 minutes away, and the scenic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake with renowned wineries (Jackson-Triggs, Inniskillin, Wayne Gretzky Estates) is a short drive. St. Catharines' waterfront, with beaches and parks for swimming, fishing, and boating, is nearby. The area hosts annual festivals such as the Shaw Festival and the Niagara Icewine Festival. While the hotel sits near the highway, rooms at the back are significantly quieter. A car is recommended for getting around, as public transit is limited. Free, unreserved parking on site is a major convenience.

All rooms feature air conditioning, a sitting area, ironing facilities, and an LCD TV. Ground-floor rooms open directly to the parking lot via a sliding patio door - ideal for pet owners or those with heavy luggage. A sofa bed can be requested for extra sleeping space. The second floor is entirely pet-free, suitable for allergy sufferers. While the renovation has modernised decor, some wear remains: bathrooms may have dated fixtures, and temperature control can be inconsistent. Noise from hallways and the adjacent restaurant may carry. Rooms facing the highway may experience traffic noise. There is no elevator, so guests on upper floors must use stairs.

The Courtyard offers a diverse menu featuring dishes like jerk chicken pasta, with generous portions and reasonable prices. It is open for lunch and dinner, and also serves breakfast for a fee - the only breakfast option on the property. The restaurant is conveniently attached to the hotel, making it easy to enjoy a meal without driving. Service is consistently praised as friendly and efficient. Note that live music or a lively atmosphere may occur in the evenings; quieter times can often be found. No complimentary breakfast is provided, so plan accordingly or dine at the Courtyard.

The fitness centre provides basic equipment for a workout, though its condition has been noted as variable. The hotel does not have a pool, hot tub, or other leisure facilities. For outdoor activities, the nearby St. Catharines waterfront offers beaches and parks for swimming, fishing, and boating.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi throughout, 24-hour front desk service, and vending machines for snacks and drinks. Parking is free and reservation-free, with an EV charging station that may occasionally be out of service. Pets are allowed on the ground floor for a nightly fee. Laundry facilities are available for a small charge ($8 total). The property is non-smoking throughout. There is no meeting space. Due to parking lot security incidents reported, it is advisable to keep valuables out of sight. The front desk can assist with late check-out requests and luggage storage.
