Skylon Tower is a 12-minute walk, and Queen Victoria Park is a 5-minute drive. Free onsite parking is available, though the lot across the street has tighter spaces. The Clifton Hill incline is steep - comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Bus stops are also within easy reach for those who prefer not to walk the hill.

The property offers classic rooms with cable TV and free local calls. Room layouts vary: smaller double rooms feature a seating area, desk, and private bathroom with one bed, while larger rooms comfortably fit up to 4 guests with options for two queen beds or a king bed with balcony. Some rooms have renovated bathrooms; others feel dated with low lighting, old quilts, and limited electrical outlets. Room 106-style rooms have plush mattresses, while other rooms may have very firm, older coil spring beds. Windows open in some rooms, but air conditioning units are fixed and blow directly onto the bed. Noise can carry from hallways and neighboring rooms.

The indoor pool is available year-round and includes a deep end for jumping in. It is generally described as clean, though the water temperature can be on the cooler side.
