COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT DENVER CENTRAL PARK, Denver

The hotel sits on an L-shaped dead-end street adjacent to a former DoubleTree that now operates as a homeless shelter. The area has a visible encampment with individuals often walking in the road, and open-air drug use has been reported. While 24-hour security is present, the location is not walkable for dining or leisure. Driving is necessary for trips to downtown Denver (approx. 20 minutes), the airport (via Uber/Lyft, no hotel shuttle), or to nearby chains like IHOP, Chick-fil-A, and Panera Bread within a 1 km radius. For public transport, the 40th & Colorado and Central Park RTD stations are within a 5-minute drive, offering rail access to the city and airport. The neighbourhood is stressful for solo travellers, women, and families with children, especially after dark.

All rooms include air conditioning, carpeted floors, a seating area with a desk, and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Each private bathroom has a bath or shower and a hairdryer. Wheelchair-accessible rooms feature roll-in showers or adapted baths. Balconies or patios are available in most rooms but not all - contact the hotel directly after booking to request one. Bed options include double beds or king suites. The rooms are clean and quiet on weeknights, but road-facing units on Quebec Street or near the I-70 may hear traffic noise. Some furnishings (mattresses, linens) feel slightly dated or worn; the hotel has been recently renovated overall. The on-site entrance-only courtyard provides a secure outdoor space for kids.

The Bistro is the hotel's on-site restaurant, serving American cuisine for dinner only (17:00-22:00, seven days a week). It operates with a family-friendly ambiance and offers kid meals, wine/champagne, and a snack bar. Breakfast is available for an additional $17 per person, but the Bistro does not serve lunch. For those preferring lighter options, a Starbucks coffee machine is available via the Bistro (not complimentary). The hotel also has a bar/lounge area. If the Bistro is closed or you want more variety, several fast-food and casual dining chains (IHOP, Chick-fil-A, Panera Bread, Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que) are within a 1 km drive - but walking to them is not recommended due to the surrounding area.

Wellness amenities include a fitness centre with equipment such as a Peloton bike (note: the bike may not be connected to the WiFi for on-demand classes). The indoor pool is available for swimming, though some have noted it can be cold or require better maintenance. The property features an enclosed courtyard accessible only from inside the hotel, providing a secure outdoor space suitable for children to play. There is no hot tub or spa.
