Bus 31 stops right outside and runs frequently into town, while the Airlink 100 bus from the airport also stops on Glasgow Road, a short walk away. Free private parking is available on-site, with space for up to eight cars, making the location ideal for both airport stopovers and driving into the city without paying parking charges. Edinburgh Waverley Station is 20 minutes away by bus. The Royal Highland Centre is within easy reach.

Rooms are large and fitted with a private bathroom, carpeted floors, a flat-screen TV, an electric kettle, and a fridge. Tea, coffee, and toiletries are replenished daily. Free toiletries, ironing facilities, and a hairdryer are provided. Some rooms have garden views and are in a separate annexe at the back, making them especially quiet even though the property is on a main road. Double-glazed windows help keep out road noise. Most rooms have walk-in showers; one small step at the entrance of the bungalow makes it accessible for guests with a folding walking frame. There is no air conditioning, so on warm days the room can feel warm and humid; portable fans are not provided but a kettle and fridge are available. A family room with up to four beds is also available.

Craigievar Guest House does not provide breakfast or any restaurant dining. Each room includes a fridge and a kettle with tea and coffee (instant coffee). Within a 10-15 minute walk, guests can reach a Lidl supermarket, a McDonald's, a petrol station with food, and several restaurants including the Prahna Indian Grill (1 km) and a Marks & Spencer food hall at the Gyle Shopping Centre (1 km).

The property offers free private parking on-site with no reservation needed, accommodating up to 8 cars. A self-check-in system with a code is used, allowing flexible arrival and departure times.
