The hotel is centrally positioned in the Art District, within a 5-block walk of the Kay Bailey Convention Center and roughly 10 blocks (walkable or short shuttle ride) from the American Airlines Center. The Dallas Aquarium and House of Blues are just steps away, and the Reunion Tower and Dealey Plaza are within a short stroll. The West End DART station (Orange Line) connects directly to Dallas/Fort Worth Airport for $2.50 per person. The immediate area has a mix of restaurants and shops, but some nearby streets and parks have a significant homeless presence. The hotel can feel less walkable at night, and the lobby security staff are active in managing access.

Rooms include a desk, chair, tea and coffee maker, heating, and a private bathroom with bath and shower. King Club rooms also feature a small love seat. Balcony rooms are available on floors 10-19 with different views of the downtown area. The property is older and some furnishings show wear - worn carpets, chipped paint, and occasional maintenance issues such as sticky doors or noisy air conditioning units are reported. Better-looking rooms appear to be those that have been updated. Noise insulation is limited, with street sound audible even on higher floors, and some elevator noise can reach nearby rooms. Road-facing rooms are less suitable for light sleepers. Floor corridors sometimes have odours.

Thrive Restaurant is open for breakfast from 6:30-11:00 and dinner from 16:00-22:00 daily. The breakfast buffet includes scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, muffins, toast, cereals, fresh fruit, juices, and coffee. The restaurant also serves a dinner menu (notably burgers) and has a bar/lounge area. A happy hour and a snack bar are available. Room service is not offered, but food delivery can be collected in the lobby. Special diet menus are available on request, and kids' meals can be ordered. The surrounding area has a wide selection of restaurants within a three-block radius, including American, Cajun, Italian, and Asian options.

The outdoor heated rooftop pool on the 9th floor operates from 8am to 11pm during the March-October season. It features a shallow end, sun loungers, umbrellas, and pool towels. The pool area can become busy, and noise from groups may be heard late in the evening. The fitness centre is open 24 hours, equipped with machines, and provides towels and cold water.
