CROWNE PLAZA PHOENIX AIRPORT - PHX BY IHG, Phoenix

The hotel sits at 44th and Washington, directly across from the METRO light rail station and the PHX Sky Train, providing seamless access to downtown Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa. The airport is a 5-minute drive via the free shuttle, which runs every 30 minutes around the clock. The Phoenix Convention Center is 11 km away, and Arizona State University and Phoenix Zoo are within a 10-minute drive. The immediate area is industrial and transit-oriented, with limited walkable dining or shopping: a Panera across the street permanently closed its dining room. For trips into the city, the light rail costs $2 per person and is the practical alternative to driving.

The Post (open 6:00-22:00) offers a breakfast buffet with eggs, bacon, oatmeal, and made-to-order omelets; lunch and dinner include burgers, salads, and flatbreads. The Perch Lounge (open 6:00-23:00) features specialty beers, cocktails, and wines, plus a limited late-night menu until 22:45. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available on request. A snack bar and vending machines are also on site. Breakfast is reasonably filling but uses pre-made components; guests wanting a more varied morning meal may find the buffet sufficient for a transit stay. The coffee has been described as basic. The bar can become crowded during evening hours.

The outdoor swimming pool is larger than typical hotel pools and has a shallow end, sun loungers, umbrellas, and pool towels. It is family-friendly and open all year, though the water can be cold in the morning. The hot tub offers a warm alternative. The 24-hour fitness centre is equipped with basic cardio machines and free weights. Sun loungers are also available poolside. A golf course is located within 3 km. The pool area overlooks the parking garage and an industrial lot, so it lacks a resort-like setting.

The hotel provides a free 24/7 shuttle to PHX (pick-up at terminal 4); for terminal 3 arrivals, use the Sky Train to terminal 4. Parking costs $14 per night for uncovered or covered garage spaces; a Park and Fly package allows long-term car storage. Wi-Fi is free throughout. The business centre offers two computers, fax, and photocopying for a fee. Luggage storage is available. The 24-hour front desk can arrange express check-in/check-out and public transport tickets. A safety deposit box is free. Pets are allowed for a $50 fee. The elevators require a key card for guest floor access. Laundry and dry cleaning are available for an additional charge.
