Spring Garden Road and its shops and restaurants are a 5-minute walk away, and Point Pleasant Park is 3 km. Train station is a 10-25 minute walk depending on the building. The bus stop right outside services routes to downtown and the main commercial centre. Free public parking is available on site, making it a practical car-friendly base for exploring the city.

Rooms are basic but clean and spacious with a desk, wardrobe, and free WiFi. Most units feature shared bathroom facilities, with an average of 6 bedrooms per bathroom. A personal sink is available in many single rooms, particularly in Risley Hall. Suites at LeMarchant Place offer private bathrooms, a microwave, fridge, and dining table. All beds are twin-sized; all rooms include heating, and fans are provided in summer. There is no air conditioning. The single rooms have a comfortable feel, and the property is quiet at night.

The Howe Hall dining hall serves a buffet with hot and cold options, including a plant-based section, and is open for three meals a day during the summer months (June-August). Meals are purchased directly at the hall and are not included in room rates. There is no restaurant or bar on site, but the surrounding area offers a variety of cafes and restaurants within a short walk, including Second Cup Coffee Co., Efes Turkish Cuisine, and Mary's Place Cafe II.

All property guests can use the campus athletics centre at Dalplex at no extra cost.
