Hotel Details

Location

A central city location, 8 minutes from the Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk and a 2-minute walk from the VIA Rail and Maritime Bus station.
The hostel sits downtown, placing shops, Seaport, and the harbour within a short walk. The VIA Rail and Maritime Bus terminal is right around the corner, and the 320 airport bus connects via a quick transfer to the 7A downtown. The waterfront boardwalk is less than 5 minutes on foot, and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is nearby. There is no on-site parking; limited free street parking is available in the evenings and on weekends, while paid public lots are within walking distance. The immediate area offers a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, and a supermarket just around the corner.

Accommodation

Recently renovated rooms with private or shared bathrooms, walk-in showers, and lockers in every room.
The hostel offers a mix of dormitories (including female-only 3-dorm section) and private rooms sleeping 1-5 people. Private rooms are available with or without an en-suite bathroom; larger private rooms (sleeping 3-5) are bookable directly. All rooms include heating, lockers (bring your own lock or buy one at reception), and linens and towels are provided. Some private rooms are compact, particularly the family room with a small double bed and bunk bed, and some have a desk only. Rooms on upper floors are quieter but require navigating stairs with luggage - no elevator. Dorm rooms are generally spacious but can feel warm, as there is no air conditioning; windows help but may not fully cool the room in summer. Road-facing rooms may experience street noise, though the hostel enforces a quiet-time policy from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Dining

No on-site restaurant, but a fully equipped shared kitchen with free coffee and tea is available for self-catering.
The hostel does not have a restaurant or serve breakfast, but the shared kitchen is well stocked with commercial-grade equipment, ample fridge space, and a personal food storage system. Free coffee and tea are available in the kitchen. The surrounding area - a 2-10 minute walk - offers a wide range of restaurants and cafés for dining out. A supermarket is located just around the corner for groceries. There is a BBQ on the rooftop terrace for guest use.

Wellness and Leisure

Free evening entertainment including pub crawls, movie nights, and board games.
The hostel does not have a spa, pool, or gym, but offers a variety of on-site leisure activities at no extra cost. Evening entertainment includes pub crawls and movie nights, and the common lounge has board games, books, and puzzles. The rooftop terrace provides outdoor seating with sofas, tables, umbrellas, and a BBQ. For those wanting self-guided exploration, cycling and canoeing are available off-site (additional charge). Temporary art galleries are also accessible off-site.

Facilities and Services

Free Wi-Fi, laundry for a fee, luggage storage during office hours, and lockers in rooms.
Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. A shared kitchen, lounge/TV area, and rooftop terrace are available to all. Laundry services are available for an additional charge. Luggage storage is offered during front desk hours (access by staff). Lockers are provided in rooms (bring your own lock or buy one). Daily housekeeping is included; however, service may require a request at reception. The hostel also offers shared kitchen, picnic area, board games, and a children's play area. Fax/photocopying is available for a fee. Security features include CCTV in common areas, fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and key card access. There is no on-site parking.
