The surrounding area has a high presence of homeless individuals and ongoing street construction; comfort with urban environments is advisable. Several bars, restaurants, and a 7-Eleven are within a 5-minute walk. Cheesman Park is less than 2 km away.

Rooms have been recently renovated with new furniture, carpeted floors, and fresh paint. Each room includes a private bathroom, air conditioning, heating, a TV with cable channels (and free movies), an in-room coffee maker, a hair dryer, ironing facilities, and a safety deposit box. Some rooms have views of downtown Denver. Road-facing rooms on lower floors can have significant street noise; upper-floor rooms away from the street are quieter. External corridor doors mean sound from outside is audible. The air conditioning units can be noisy. Bed firmness varies; some find the mattresses hard. No rooms have balconies. Double-bed rooms have full-size double beds.
