The property sits in a residential area with condos and apartments. The Grantville trolley station (0.5 mi) connects to the San Diego Trolley network, making car-free trips to SDSU, downtown, and the transit center possible. Mission Trails Regional Park is a 10-minute drive, Fashion Valley Shopping Center 13 minutes, and SeaWorld 25 minutes by car. The beach and boardwalk are a 20-30 minute drive. A hiking trail is a 5-minute walk away. While the freeway location provides convenient access, traffic noise can be audible in rooms facing the road.

Room sizes are generally spacious, many featuring full-size refrigerators, stovetops, and dishwashers - ideal for longer stays. However, kitchenettes do not include utensils or cookware; these can be requested at the front desk. The property is older and some rooms show signs of wear: dated furniture, wall stains, and shower mold have been observed. Walls are thin, and noise from neighboring rooms and the freeway is common. Smoking odor may persist in non-smoking rooms due to ventilation. Entry doors open to exterior walkways, typical of motel-style properties. Rooms have private bathrooms. No rooms have balconies or sofa beds.

Breakfast is served from 6:30 am to 9:30 am on weekends and includes a do-it-yourself waffle station, cereal dispenser, packaged muffins, apples, yogurt, and boiled eggs. Coffee and juice are available. During weekdays, breakfast is not currently offered. The breakfast area is small. For other meals, several restaurants and grocery stores are within a 3 km drive.

The outdoor pool and hot tub were previously available but are closed at present. A golf course is located within 3 km (additional charge). There is no spa or other leisure amenities. Guests should confirm the reopening status before booking if pool or gym access is a priority.

Additional services include laundry and dry cleaning (additional charge), limited room service, and a business centre with fax/photocopying. The front desk is staffed 24/7 and can assist with early check-in ($35 fee after 12:00 pm) and luggage storage. The hotel has a lift but it is occasionally out of service; exterior entry doors are at ground level. Accessible rooms are available but limited. No airport shuttle is provided.
