THE SHOAL HOTEL LA JOLLA BEACH, San Diego

The hotel is located half a block from Windansea Beach, one of San Diego's best surf spots, and is about an 8-minute walk total. La Jolla Cove is a 25-minute walk along the shore. The Village of La Jolla, with its boutiques, galleries, and dining, is a short walk or quick drive. Numerous restaurants and cafés are within 0.3-1 km, including La Clochette Du Coin and The Shack Bar & Grill. San Diego International Airport is 13 km away. UC San Diego is a 20-minute drive, and major attractions like Birch Aquarium (5 km), Torrey Pines, and SeaWorld (11 km) are all close by. A bus stop right outside provides access to La Jolla and Pacific Beach. The area is considered safe for walking, even after sunset.

Room types include New Cozy King (20 m², max 2), New Standard King, New Deluxe King (California King bed), New 2 Queen Beds (2 Queen beds, bathtubs), 2 Queens w/Sofa Bed (walk-in showers), and the Panoramic Sundeck King Suite (42 m², with a private patio and partial water views). All rooms are non-smoking and feature blackout curtains, a study desk, iron/ironing board, and hairdryer. King rooms have showers with glass doors; double-queen rooms have bathtubs. Soundproofing between floors is limited, so upper-floor noise from footsteps can be heard in rooms below. AC units can be loud. Some rooms have been noted as dark due to few lights. Accessible rooms offer roll-in showers and grab bars.

The hotel does not serve a cooked breakfast or have a restaurant. Instant oatmeal is provided free in the lobby, along with coffee and tea. In-room, each unit has a K-Cup coffee machine and a microwave for simple meal prep.
