DESIGN & BUDGET HOTEL WIEN SCHOENBRUNN, Vienna

The hotel sits within a 10-minute walk of Schönbrunn Palace and the Technical Museum. Johnstraße Underground Station (line U3) is a 10-minute walk away, offering a 2-stop ride to Westbahnhof Train Station and 7 stops to St. Stephen's Cathedral. The tram station is directly outside, providing easy access to Mariahilfer Strasse and the city centre. Nearby supermarkets (Penny, Spar) and several restaurants within 0.5 km make self-catering and dining convenient. Though the area is busy, with some street and train line noise, the location is well-suited for sightseeing and public transport use.

Breakfast is a continental and buffet-style meal served in the rooftop bar area, which offers a direct view of Schönbrunn Palace. The selection includes bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, boiled eggs, and coffee. Some reports describe the breakfast as basic and overpriced for the quality and variety provided. There is no restaurant or bar on site, so lunch and dinner require visiting nearby eateries; several restaurants and a vending machine with drinks are available. Special diet menus can be requested.

Wi-Fi is free in all areas but is often weak or non-functional in rooms, working best in the reception area. Parking is available in the underground garage for 20 EUR per night; access may require payment at reception, and spaces cannot be reserved, leading to potential unavailability. The garage height is 1.9m. The hotel has a 24/7 front desk, though staff presence is limited outside of certain hours and the hotel may operate as an unstaffed property during the day. Check-in and key retrieval are self-service via a lockbox code sent after online check-in. The hotel features a lift, key card access, CCTV, and smoke alarms. There is no spa, swimming pool, or airport shuttle. A vending machine for drinks is available.
