FAIRFIELD INN AND SUITES CHICAGO DOWNTOWN/ MAGNIFICENT MILE, Chicago

The hotel sits in the Streeterville neighbourhood, directly behind Northwestern Hospital, placing guests within walking distance of many downtown attractions. Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago are 2 km south, while the Starbucks Roastery on Michigan Avenue and a Whole Foods are within a few blocks. The immediate area offers numerous dining options - including Blaze Pizza, Epic Burger, and Nando's Peri-Peri - all within a few minutes' walk. The hotel is close to a bus stop for O'Hare Airport routes, but offers no airport shuttle; taxi, Uber, or Lyft are the recommended transfers. The area is generally safe to walk around, though some sections near Grand and St. Clair can feel less secure at night. Parking is available via valet ($55/night) or self-park at 321 E. Erie St. ($42/night).

The breakfast is included in the room rate and is located on the second floor. It features hot items such as scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, and bacon, plus continental options including fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, and granola, along with coffee, tea, and several juices. The breakfast room can become very crowded, especially on weekends and during school trips. A snack bar is available in the lobby for additional purchases. There is no restaurant or bar on-site, but the surrounding area offers dozens of dining options within an easy walk, from quick-service chains like Blaze Pizza to sit-down restaurants such as Beatrix and Quartino.

The fitness centre is a small, functional room with basic cardio and strength equipment. It is occasionally in need of maintenance - the air conditioning has been reported non-functional in some periods. There are no other leisure facilities on-site: no swimming pool, hot tub, or spa. Guests looking for more extensive wellness amenities should plan to use external facilities.

The hotel offers a 24-hour front desk with a concierge service and an ATM on-site. Luggage storage is available free of charge, which is useful for early arrivals or late departures. Express check-in and check-out are available, and the front desk can assist with restaurant recommendations, cab bookings, and meeting room reservations. The business centre is free, and meeting/banquet facilities are available for an additional charge. A minimarket is located on-site. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, with grab rails in accessible toilets. There is no laundry service, though dry cleaning, ironing, and trouser press services are available at an additional charge. No pets are allowed. Accepted payment methods include American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, JCB, Discover, and UnionPay credit cards; debit cards and cash are also accepted. A refundable deposit of $20 per night is required; this is refunded to the card after stay.
