HYATT HOUSE CHICAGO SCHAUMBURG, Schaumburg

Each studio features a kitchenette with a dishwasher, stove, microwave, full-size fridge, and cooking utensils. The living area includes a 32-inch flat-screen cable TV, a couch (some with a pull-out sofa sleeper), and a dining space. Bedrooms generally have separate doors only in the 2-Bedroom Suites - other rooms are open-plan. The Queen Studio combines living, sleeping, and eating areas into one space. Private bathrooms have either a walk-in glass shower or a tub, and all rooms include air conditioning, heating, and an iron. While some report that the decor feels dated and the TVs are older models without streaming capabilities, the beds are generally comfortable, and suites with multiple sleeping areas work well for families needing separate spaces.

The breakfast buffet is served each morning and includes hot items such as eggs, sausages, pancakes (from a machine), fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, and oatmeal. When available, a made-to-order omelet station adds to the options. The breakfast space also offers hot coffee all day. The on-site restaurant, HBar, is currently closed, so dinner and lunch options rely on the numerous nearby restaurants within a half-kilometre walk. There is also a small snack market in the lobby, though it is frequently reported as sparsely stocked. For longer stays, the in-room kitchenette provides a practical alternative for preparing meals.

The indoor swimming pool is open year-round with a skylight design, accessible from 06:00 to 22:00. The hot tub and sauna are part of the same relaxation area. The fitness centre contains basic cardio and weight equipment. Outside, an outdoor sport court provides basketball hoops. Some seasonal or staffing limitations have been reported: the hot tub and sauna have been intermittently out of service, and the pool area may run short on towels. Families with children are common in the pool, and the area can become lively. The combination of pool, hot tub, and sauna offers a solid leisure offering for a suburban extended-stay property.

The hotel operates a 24-hour front desk with express check-in/out and an ATM on site. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, though the connection can be weak in some rooms - the lobby offers a stronger signal. Free on-site parking is available without reservation, though the lot can fill by late evening. Guest laundry with washers and dryers is available for a charge, as are dry-cleaning services. The business centre and meeting/banquet facilities are available for guests who need to work. The property provides wheelchair-accessible rooms and has a lift. A shared lounge and a TV area are open for relaxation.
