FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES BY MARRIOTT KNOXVILLE/EAST, Knoxville

A simple drive to the University of Tennessee campus and Neyland Stadium (19 km), as well as Market Square (17 km) in downtown Knoxville. The immediate area includes chain dining options within a 1 km radius, such as Cracker Barrel, Taco Bell, and Amigo's & Beer Mexican Grill. The hotel's location right off the interstate is convenient for road travelers, but the surrounding neighborhood has been described as having a less polished feel. Free on-site parking is available, making car access straightforward. An airport shuttle is not available.

Each room includes a microwave and a mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, and streaming services. Beds are noted as comfortable. However, the property shows significant signs of age and deferred maintenance. Reports of musty odors, stained carpets, malfunctioning fixtures (toilet paper holders, shower doors, lamps), and cleanliness issues (including bed linen and bathroom cleanliness) are common. The overall feel is of a dated facility where surface-level updates have not resolved deeper problems. For a restful stay, a first-floor room is recommended to avoid reliance on the reported problematic elevator, and requesting a room away from the stairwell may reduce noise from slamming doors.

Breakfast includes items such as scrambled eggs, muffins, waffle batter, and coffee, but the selection can be limited. The breakfast service may start late or close early, and the offerings (including fruit and coffee) have been reported as substandard on some occasions. Waffle makers and other equipment have also been noted as broken. For a more reliable meal, the area features several nearby fast-food and chain restaurants within walking distance, such as Cracker Barrel and KFC. There is no on-site restaurant or bar.

The indoor pool is open all year but has been reported as extremely cold (heater not working), dirty, or out of order for extended periods, including as recently as late 2025. There is no hot tub or spa. The fitness centre is available, but like the pool, its functionality can be affected by the property's overall maintenance issues. The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar for leisure use.
