Trams 5 and 33 and bus 60 stop 200 m away, and Corso Buenos Aires - Milan's main shopping artery - is 300 m from the hotel. The area is filled with traditional and ethnic restaurants, pizzerias, and a supermarket, all within easy walking distance. The location scores high for walkability and safety, though street parking is not recommended due to the risk of break-ins.

Room quality at Hotel Garda is inconsistent. The hotel has recently begun renovations, and the refurbished rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with modern bathroom fittings, effective air conditioning, comfortable mattresses, and good soundproofing. These units also offer a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee, and a minibar stocked with free water. The older, non-renovated rooms present significant issues: dated décor, small showers, poor water pressure, mold, broken fixtures, inefficient or inactive air conditioning (often seasonal), and thin walls that transmit noise from corridors and neighbouring rooms. Road-facing rooms are subject to street noise, and some rooms near the lift experience a recurring humming sound. The lift is very narrow, requiring single-person use with luggage. The hotel is entirely non-smoking, and guests must leave their room key at the 24-hour reception when going out.
