HOTEL GIACOSA, Milan

The hotel is situated on a main road in a predominantly residential area with a mix of shops, supermarkets, and international eateries within a short walk. Pasteur metro station (M1 line) is 400 metres away, providing direct 10-15 minute rides to the Duomo and other central attractions. Milano Centrale station is reachable on foot in about 20 minutes or via a short metro hop. Linate Airport is 8 km away, while Malpensa and Bergamo are further afield. The immediate surroundings can feel busy, particularly on weekends, with some streets appearing less maintained; staying alert at night is advisable. On-site private parking (€20/day, reservation needed) is a practical option for drivers, as street parking is difficult.

The breakfast buffet is served in the hotel's breakfast room and consists of sweet pastries, cakes, yoghurts, fresh fruit, juice, and coffee or tea. Hot dishes are not included, making it a lighter option that suits a quick start before heading out. The breakfast room is small and can feel cramped. Several cafés, pizzerias, and restaurants - including Salumeria del design, Ristorante Fledge, and Trattoria da Abele - are within a 5-10 minute walk for those who prefer a more substantial or varied meal. The hotel also has a bar and a coffee shop on site, offering drinks and snacks throughout the day.

There are no dedicated fitness or relaxation facilities such as a swimming pool, spa, sauna, or gym. For downtime, the hotel offers a shared lounge/TV area and a bar where drinks can be purchased. The surrounding neighbourhood provides easy access to parks for walking or jogging, and the metro links to Milan's cultural and entertainment districts in under 15 minutes.

The hotel operates a 24-hour front desk with staff on hand for late arrivals and early departures. Free luggage storage is available for guests arriving before check-in or after check-out. Daily housekeeping is standard, though some reports indicate certain rooms were not cleaned thoroughly. Safety features include 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas and outside, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and a security alarm. Key card access is used. For business needs, fax/photocopying is available at an additional charge. Private check-in/check-out is offered. The hotel is equipped with a lift, but guests may need to climb a few stairs to reach it, which could be challenging with heavy luggage. Accessible rooms have raised toilets and emergency cords, though some wheelchair users have noted that the bathroom layout is not fully manoeuvrable. No pets are allowed.
