GRAND HOTEL DES GOBELINS, Paris

The hotel is a 2-minute walk from Gobelins Metro station (line 7) and also close to line 10, making the city centre, Gare de Lyon, Gare du Nord, and Orly airport easily reachable (about 30 minutes by public transport, 40 EUR by taxi). The area is calm yet lively: Rue Mouffetard's market and restaurants are a short stroll, and the Jardin des Plantes (with its Natural History Museum) and Jardin du Luxembourg are within walking distance. Many restaurants, cafés, and a supermarket are right on the block, and the neighbourhood feels safe even at night. Bus 91 serves both Gare de Lyon and Gare du Nord directly.

Rooms are fully soundproofed with double-glazed windows and air conditioning. While many rooms are small, especially triple rooms (where the extra bed can be a sofa bed), some have been recently refurbished and are more spacious. All rooms include a private bathroom (some with bathtub, some with shower), a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, and an electric kettle. Single and double rooms are available, and family rooms can accommodate 2 adults + 2 small children. Higher floors may offer partial Eiffel Tower views. There are no rooms with balconies. The lift serves all floors but accessing it requires 8 steps from the ground floor.

Breakfast is available at 16 EUR per person, offering a continental buffet with bread, pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and made-to-order omelettes or scrambled eggs. There is no hotel restaurant or bar, but the surrounding Rue Mouffetard and nearby streets are lined with excellent bistros, bakeries, and ethnic restaurants. Breakfast can also be served in the room upon request. Fruits are offered free of charge in the breakfast area.

The hotel does not have a spa, swimming pool, or gym. However, the Jardin des Plantes (with its botanical gardens, galleries, and zoo) and the Jardin du Luxembourg are both within a 15-minute walk. The Latin Quarter itself is ideal for strolling, shopping, and people-watching. For leisure, the area offers numerous cinemas and parks nearby.
