Hotel Details

Location

Situated on Granville Island, the hotel offers immediate access to the Public Market, artisan shops, theatres, and the Vancouver seawall, with downtown a 10-minute bus or ferry ride away.
As the only hotel on Granville Island, the property places you right in the heart of a lively waterfront neighbourhood. The Granville Island Public Market, artisan boutiques, galleries, and multiple theatres are all within a 5-minute walk. The famous Vancouver seawall runs directly outside the hotel, ideal for walking, running, or cycling. Downtown Vancouver is a short 10-minute bus (W 2nd Ave at Anderson St stop) or Aquabus/False Creek ferry ride away. For airport access, a taxi costs a flat rate of about CAD 31 and takes 25 minutes, or you can take the Canada Line to Olympic Village and connect via bus 50. The hotel is also the closest hotel to the University of British Columbia (UBC) and near Emily Carr University, and is a 10-minute cab ride from the Vancouver cruise terminal. The compact island setting means many attractions are reachable on foot; however, large tour buses cannot pick up on Granville Island, so plan accordingly.

Accommodation

Rooms range from Granville Island King/Double rooms with city or island views to waterfront suites and penthouses with balconies and panoramic False Creek vistas.
Accommodation categories include Granville Island King and Double rooms (the latter with two double beds sleeping up to 4 adults), Premium Balcony King and Double rooms (all with private balconies overlooking False Creek, Granville Island, or Ron Basford Park), and Superior Waterfront Rooms (king bed plus pull-out sofa, with water and skyline views). The Waterfront Executive Suites (three in total) feature a king bed, queen pull-out sofa, two TVs, a business desk, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The Boardwalk Suite is a corner room with three private balconies, panoramic views, a walk-in rain shower, and the largest bathroom in the hotel. The Pelican Bay Penthouse and False Creek Penthouse each offer a private jacuzzi, fireplace, balcony, and additional living space. All rooms include air conditioning, a stocked minibar, coffee maker, 42-inch flat-screen cable TV, free WiFi, and a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer. Room size and condition vary; some rooms are compact, and a few have older furnishings. Bathrooms in certain standard rooms (e.g., room 212) are very small. Request a higher-floor waterfront room to avoid ground-level noise from the pedestrian walkway and to ensure the advertised view. Rooms near the elevator, delivery areas, or above the kitchen can experience noise from events, truck beeping, and hallway activity.

Dining

The on-site Dockside Restaurant & Patio serves classic dishes with panoramic waterfront views for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; a Happy Hour menu is also available.
Dockside Restaurant, open from 08:30 for breakfast, is the primary dining option, offering classic dishes with a focus on local ingredients. The restaurant features a waterfront patio (awarded Vancouver's best patio for 11 consecutive years) with gas fireplaces and cabana-style tents. Breakfast is not included but vouchers (CAD 15 each for CAD 30 credit) can be purchased at the front desk. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and gluten-free items are available upon request. The bar/lounge stays open until approximately 20:30; no room service is available after that time. There is a vending machine for drinks and snacks in the hotel. For a wider selection, the Public Market and numerous cafés and restaurants (e.g., Bridges, The Vancouver Fish Company, Lee's Donuts) are within a 5-minute walk - these are listed as general location amenities, not as a replacement for the hotel's own dining.

Wellness and Leisure

Guests have free access to a fitness centre, hot tub, and dry cedar sauna (by appointment), plus seasonal e-bike rentals and kayak/water activity rentals steps away.
The third-floor wellness area includes a fitness room with ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, weights, and yoga mats. A sun-dappled hot tub is available, and the dry cedar sauna can be used by booking an appointment at the front desk. Note that the gym can be warm (no dedicated air conditioning). For outdoor activities, the hotel offers seasonal e-bike rental (available to rent at the lobby), and kayak, water bike, and boat rentals are available within Granville Island, just steps from the hotel. The Vancouver seawall is directly outside, ideal for walking, jogging, or cycling. There is no swimming pool or spa on site.

Facilities and Services

Free WiFi throughout, 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, a 24-hour business centre (computers available by appointment), and daily housekeeping. Pets allowed with a fee.
WiFi is free and available in all rooms and public areas. The 24-hour business centre on the second floor provides two computers, printers, and complimentary WiFi; it can be booked for private use. Daily housekeeping is included; laundry and dry cleaning are available for an additional charge. A safety deposit box is provided in each room. The 24-hour front desk can assist with currency exchange, luggage storage (useful for late flights), and local recommendations. Babysitting/child services are available on request. The elevator serves all floors, and facilities for disabled guests are provided. The hotel can accommodate group bookings and corporate events, with meeting venues featuring natural lighting and opening windows. Parking is private, on-site (no reservation needed), and costs CAD 52.26 per day; a parking permit is issued at check-in. Payment is accepted via American Express, Visa, Discover, and MasterCard.

Top Strategic Tips

  • 01

Book a Waterfront Executive Suite, Boardwalk Suite, or Superior Waterfront Room for guaranteed views of False Creek and the city skyline, as other room categories may offer limited or no water view.

  • 02

Request a room on a higher floor or away from the elevator and delivery areas to avoid noise from restaurant events, hallway activity, and early-morning truck deliveries.

  • 03

Plan to arrive by taxi, Uber, or water taxi from downtown (10 minutes) rather than by car, as on-site parking is limited and costs CAD 52.26 per day.

  • 04

Reserve the sauna at the front desk upon check-in if you plan to use it, as it is available only by appointment.
