The hostel sits on Granville Street, the city's main nightlife thoroughfare, which means non-stop activity and noise until late. Key attractions are easily reached on foot: Granville Island and historic Gastown are each about 20 minutes away, and Stanley Park is a 30-minute walk. Vancouver City Centre SkyTrain station is a short walk, providing direct rail connections from YVR airport (train to City Centre, then walk). The immediate area has a high concentration of homeless individuals and visible drug use, and while the street is busy and generally feels safe at night, solo travellers may find it confronting. Numerous bars, pubs, and casual eateries are within a 5-minute walk.

All rooms are air-conditioned and feature parquet floors, individual lockers, and a mirror. Private double rooms are available with either an en-suite private bathroom or a shared bathroom. Dorm rooms are compact - particularly 6-bed rooms where space for luggage is very limited and only one person can stand beside their bed at a time. The metal-framed bunk beds and under-bed locker drawers are inherently noisy. Beds are comfortable and fitted with privacy curtains in some dorms. No rooms have a balcony. The building has no elevator, and top bunks require climbing a ladder. For light sleepers, rooms facing the street receive significant noise from clubs, sirens, and passers-by until the early hours. Room sizes are generally small, making them best suited for short stays.

Breakfast includes bagels with cream cheese, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, and a selection of bread, along with coffee and tea. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with cookware, a fridge, and a microwave - useful for making meals and saving money. Special diet menus (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) are available on request. Breakfast can run out if demand is high, and guests are asked to wash their own dishes. The surrounding area offers dozens of eateries within a short walk, including pubs, Indian cuisine, and poutine shops on the same block. No restaurant operates on the property.

On-site leisure is limited to the common areas: a spacious lounge with sofas, a shared kitchen and dining space, and a TV area. Daily walking tours are organised free of charge, providing a structured way to explore downtown landmarks. Hiking and board games are also available. Discounted Vancouver Canucks tickets are sold at reception. There is no gym, swimming pool, or spa on site. For active guests, Stanley Park's trails and Granville Island are within walking distance.

The 24-hour front desk can handle late check-ins (until 3 am) and offers a secure luggage room for free day-use before check-in and after check-out. Lockers are provided in dorm rooms (bring your own padlock) and are sized for smaller items like laptops and cameras. Towels, shampoo, and soap are provided free. Free daily housekeeping is basic (sheet changes and rubbish removal) but floors are not always vacuumed. The shared kitchen is well-stocked with appliances and utensils. Wi-Fi is free throughout but may be weak in rooms furthest from the lobby. Laundry is not available on site. No airport shuttle is offered. Payment is by accepted credit cards only; cash and debit cards are not accepted.
