HAMPTON INN MANHATTAN GRAND CENTRAL, New York

The property sits on a relatively quiet street in Midtown, providing convenient access for exploring the city on foot or via subway. Grand Central Terminal is less than 5 minutes away, offering direct subway and commuter rail connections across Manhattan and to both LaGuardia and JFK airports. Times Square can be reached in about 10 minutes by subway or a 15-20 minute walk. Central Park is approximately 2 km north. The surrounding area offers many dining, shopping, and service options, with several restaurants, pharmacies, and convenience stores within a short walk. The neighborhood feels safe and walkable, and for those with a car, easy access to major arteries and nearby parking garages is available.

Rooms are generally compact but functional, typical for Manhattan. Each room includes air conditioning, heating, a safe, ironing facilities, free toiletries, and an alarm clock. The bathrooms use a barn-style sliding door with no lock, and most bathrooms have a fixed shower head (no detachable handset). Only four rooms have a balcony, and those are king bed only. Connecting rooms are available in configurations of one king and two double beds. No mini fridge or microwave is provided in the room, but a communal microwave is available in the lobby. Higher-floor rooms are recommended for a quieter experience, as street-level construction noise has been noted in the area. Bed comfort is generally highly rated, though pillows are soft and may lack support for some sleepers. Housekeeping is provided daily and is noted for its thoroughness.

Breakfast is served in a lobby-level dining area; proof of vaccination was required for dine-in during certain periods, with the option to take food to the room if preferred. The buffet includes a rotating menu with options such as hot eggs (with and without cheese), boiled eggs, a waffle maker, oatmeal, bagels, Danish pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, and several juice and milk choices. The dining area is relatively small, and during peak hours finding a table can be challenging. The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or bar, but numerous dining options are within walking distance, including Shake Shack, Sakagura, McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, and several other establishments within 0.5 km.

The fitness centre features cardio equipment and free weights, kept clean and sufficient for exercise during a hotel stay. It is not large, but adequate for maintaining a routine. There is no pool, spa, sauna, or jacuzzi on the property.
