HAMPTON INN MEMPHIS-POPLAR, Memphis

The hotel sits on Poplar Avenue in a commercial area, 11 km from the airport and about 15-20 minutes from Graceland and the Memphis Zoo. Stax Museum is 15 km away. Nearby dining options within a 5-minute walk include Corky's Ribs & BBQ, Newk's Eatery, and Starbucks. The University of Memphis is close by. Train tracks run 183 m away, producing noise from train horns between midnight and 6 am. Light sleepers may prefer rooms away from that side. The area feels safe with well-lit parking and security patrols.

Room sizes are compact, with limited storage-wire racks and hooks rather than full closets. Some rooms have a work desk. The bathrooms are small, with towel hooks but limited counter space. Air conditioning and heating are standard. Rooms may feel dated, with older carpets and furnishings. Windows can be narrow. For a quieter stay, request a room facing away from the train tracks. Housekeeping consistency may vary; it is worth checking the room upon arrival. Accessible rooms with roll-in showers and visual alerts are available.

Breakfast is available on the first floor from morning hours. Options include oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and breads. Coffee and juice are provided. Breakfast-to-go packages are available for early departures. There is no on-site restaurant or bar, but several eateries are within a short walk: Buckley's Grill, Newk's Eatery, and Corky's Ribs & BBQ are all within 0.5 km. Breakfast staff are consistently friendly and helpful.

WiFi is free throughout the property. Parking is free and does not require a reservation; accessible spots are available. Luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures. Housekeeping is offered daily, but frequency may vary-request additional service if needed. The front desk can assist with express check-in/out, fax/photocopying, and meeting space. An ATM is on-site. The hotel has a minimarket for snacks and essentials. Pets are allowed with a $75 fee per pet (max 2). A security deposit of $50 is taken at check-in. Safety features include key card access, security alarms, and night patrols in the parking lot.
