HAMPTON INN & SUITES NEWARK-HARRISON-RIVERWALK, Newark

The hotel sits along the Passaic River with a riverwalk path, providing quick access to the Harrison PATH Station and Newark Penn Station, both about a 20-minute walk or short taxi/Uber ride. The PATH train runs frequently into Manhattan, making it a practical base for New York City visits. Nearby attractions include the Prudential Center (20 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by car) and Red Bull Arena. The surrounding area has limited walkability for errands, and the neighbourhood is less suitable for walking alone at night. Several good restaurants - including Spanish Pavilion and Tops Diner - are within a 5-minute walk, and Uber or taxi is recommended for reaching the airport or wider Newark destinations.

Breakfast is served Monday-Friday from 6:00-9:00 AM and weekends from 7:00-10:00 AM, featuring hot items such as scrambled eggs, waffles, sausages, potatoes, plus cereals, yogurt, fruit, toast, bagels, juices, and hot drinks. The breakfast room uses disposable plates and cutlery. Items may run out near the end of service, and the selection is limited. The hotel has no restaurant, but a bar on-site serves wine and champagne. Within a few minutes' walk there are several well-regarded independent restaurants, including Spanish Pavilion, Tops Diner, Urban Tandoor, Martini 494, and La Fiamma.

The indoor swimming pool is open year-round but requires reservations through the British Swim School, which offers classes for both children and adults. The pool area has been noted for occasional cleanliness issues. The fitness centre is free to use and offers a range of cardio and strength equipment.

Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the hotel. On-site parking costs $22 per night and does not require a reservation; spots are first-come, first-served. Parking is automatically added to the bill, so travellers without a car should check for and request a removal. Luggage storage is available free of charge at the front desk after checkout. A guest laundry room is on the 6th floor ($3 wash, $3 dry). The hotel has a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/out, safety deposit boxes, and meeting/banquet facilities (additional charge). Wheelchair-accessible rooms with roll-in showers are available. The hotel does not have a shuttle to Newark Airport, Newark Penn Station, or local attractions. The bar and restaurant are closed.
