HAMPTON INN WEST, New Rome

The hotel sits just off the highway, making it convenient for road trips and quick access to the city centre, including Ohio Theater and Natural Resources Park (15 km away), and Capitol Square and Columbus Museum of Art (16 km away). Several restaurants - Supreme Buffet & Hibachi Grill, Fazoli's, Arby's, and Mikado Japanese Restaurant - are within a 0.5 km walk, and Hollywood Casino is nearby. The area feels safe and quiet, with well-lit parking. A car is recommended for exploring the city, as public transport is limited.

The property offers double rooms with either a king or two queen beds, each featuring a private bathroom with a shower. While rooms are spacious and generally clean, some units show signs of age - visible wear, rust in bathrooms, and occasional damp or musty odours. The furniture and linens in certain rooms may feel outdated. Air conditioning and heating are available, but the units can be noisy and may cycle on/off during the night. Road-facing rooms may experience more noise. For the best experience, request a room on a higher floor and away from the electrical room.

Breakfast includes breads, pastries, hot dishes, cereal, yogurt, coffee, and juice. While the selection and quality receive mixed feedback - some travellers find it above average, others note it could be more varied - it provides a convenient start to the day. There is no restaurant or bar on site, but several casual dining options (Arby's, Fazoli's, Supreme Buffet & Hibachi Grill, Mikado Japanese Restaurant) are within a short walk. A vending machine for drinks and snacks is available in the hotel.

The hotel provides express check-in/check-out and a safety deposit box at the front desk. A business centre with fax/photocopying is available; wired internet is accessible there at an additional charge. The property is wheelchair accessible with accessible parking. Free air conditioning, a lift, and non-smoking rooms throughout are standard. Pets are not allowed. Parking is public and on-site with no reservation needed; charges may apply. Luggage storage is free.
