HILTON GARDEN INN CHICAGO DOWNTOWN/MAGNIFICENT MILE, Chicago

The hotel is situated in Chicago's River North neighbourhood, placing you within a 5-10 minute walk of the Magnificent Mile's shops, restaurants, and the Chicago Riverwalk. The Grand-State Red Line stop is literally at the front door, providing direct rail connections to the Loop, Chinatown, and both O'Hare and Midway airports. Navy Pier is approximately 2 km to the east. Many of Chicago's top attractions - including the Art Institute, Millennium Park, and theatre district - are within walking distance or a short train ride. For those driving, the hotel's location is central but parking costs $69 per day at a nearby public garage with no in-and-out limitations.

Guest rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Downtown offer a standardised setup: a well-equipped room with a flat-screen HDTV, microwave, refrigerator, and a Keurig-style coffee machine. Some rooms feature city views, while suites include a spacious seating area with a sofa bed. Rooms are generally described as spacious but can have a dated feel, with some furnishings showing wear. The property does not have rooms with a balcony. All rooms include air conditioning, heating, ironing facilities, and a private bathroom. Bathroom configurations vary - some rooms have a bathtub, while others have a shower only. Due to building design, noise from both the street and hallway can be noticeable, especially on lower floors and in road-facing rooms. Travellers prioritising absolute quiet or modern decor may wish to request a higher floor or consider upgraded room options.

Weber Grill is located within the hotel and provides a convenient dining option with a full menu of American dishes. Breakfast is offered both as a buffet and à la carte, priced at $24 per person; the buffet includes a standard selection of hot and cold items. The restaurant also has a bar and is open for lunch and dinner, serving cocktails and a dinner menu. For guests who prefer lighter meals, the hotel has a 24-hour snack shop with drinks and packaged snacks. The surrounding area in River North is densely packed with restaurants and bars within a five-minute walk, including options like Joe's Seafood and Cantina Laredo.

The indoor heated swimming pool on the 12th floor is enclosed by floor-to-ceiling windows, offering striking views of the Chicago skyline. It is open year-round and is a smaller pool, but provides a pleasant space for a relaxing swim. The fitness centre is open 24 hours and is equipped with a good mix of cardio and strength-training equipment. There is no spa or wellness centre on the property. Pool towels are provided, but there are no separate showers or bathrooms directly adjacent to the pool area.
