HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS & SUITES JACKSONVILLE SOUTH - I-295 BY IHG, Loretto

The hotel is situated in a shopping plaza near the I-295 and I-95 interchange, approximately 39 km from Jacksonville International Airport. Several quick-service restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, including McDonald's, Taco Bell, and a steakhouse, while a Publix grocery store is also within walking distance for supplies. The Mandarin Museum and Historical Society is 7 km away, and Theatre Jacksonville is 17 km from the property. The Port of Jacksonville and TIAA Bank Field are roughly a 20-30 minute drive. Being adjacent to the interstate means road noise is present throughout the property, particularly on the freeway-facing side and in rooms with older windows. Having a car simplifies access, as the hotel is set within a commercial area and can be tricky to locate on first arrival. Free parking is available on site without a reservation.

Accommodation options include double rooms with one bed, twin rooms with three beds, queen rooms with two beds, and suites with a pull-out sofa bed. All rooms feature a private bathroom with a bath and shower or a walk-in shower, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities, and free toiletries. Select rooms include a microwave and small refrigerator. Connecting standard rooms are available for larger groups. Room conditions vary: some are described as clean and spacious with comfortable beds, while others have dated furnishings, musty odours, or carpet stains. The air conditioning units in several rooms have been reported as noisy or unable to cool below 23 °C. Soundproofing between rooms and floors is limited, with noise from neighbours, hallways, and the interstate being a frequent issue. Rooms on the ground floor may experience overhead noise. A roll-in shower accessible room with two queen beds can be requested and connected to a standard room for groups needing accessible facilities.

A free breakfast buffet is available each morning featuring both continental and American items, including warm scrambled eggs, omelettes, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fresh pastries, fruit, oatmeal, Greek yogurt, and boiled eggs. Coffee, tea, and juice are also offered. The breakfast area is noted as well-stocked and clean. Many find the breakfast satisfying with ample choice, though some describe it as carb-heavy and basic. The on-site minimarket sells packaged snacks, drinks, and toiletries. There is no restaurant or bar at the hotel, but multiple fast-food and casual dining options such as McDonald's, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Little Caesars, and a Colombian steakhouse are within a 5-minute walk, and a grocery store is next door.

Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out and luggage storage. On-site free public parking does not require a reservation and includes accessible parking spaces. The business centre provides copying, fax, and meeting facilities for an additional charge. A guest laundry room with coin-operated machines is available. The hotel is fully non-smoking with a designated outdoor smoking area. Safety features include key card access, smoke alarms, and a security alarm. The lift serves all floors. Staff, particularly at the front desk, are frequently described as friendly, professional, and efficient. The hotel permits pets (dogs and cats) with a daily fee of $30 per pet; service animals are exempt. An incidental hold of $10 per night is placed on credit cards at check-in, or a $100 cash deposit is required. Housekeeping is provided daily but has been noted as inconsistent in the thoroughness of room cleaning.
