HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS SAN DIEGO - SORRENTO VALLEY BY IHG, San Diego

The hotel is located in Sorrento Valley, a business-oriented area with convenient freeway access to downtown San Diego (20 minutes), Pacific Beach (19 km), and Legoland California (34 km). Walking distance to Qualcomm buildings and a short drive to LaJolla, UCSD, and the Golden Triangle. Several restaurants and cafes are within 1km, including Punjabi Tandoor, Hon Sushi, and a Starbucks and Jersey Mike's directly outside the front door. The area is considered safe and quiet, with no visible homelessness. Parking on site is available for USD 10 per day; spaces can be tight for larger vehicles. The hotel is well-suited for business travellers and families passing through the San Diego area.

The property has been recently renovated, and rooms are described as clean and comfortable. Standard amenities include air conditioning, heating, a hair dryer, ironing facilities, and a carpeted floor. Some rooms feature a microwave and mini fridge. Suites include a pull-out queen sofa bed. Noise can be an issue: thin walls and ceilings allow sound from footsteps, doors, and plumbing; rooms on the pool side or near the breakfast area are noticeably louder. Requesting a room on the front side of the building can improve sleep quality. No rooms have a balcony. Bathrooms are private; some have a bathtub (confirm at booking). Housekeeping must be scheduled if you want more than a towel change, but towels are refreshed daily.

Breakfast includes hot items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, turkey sausage, and a self-serve pancake machine, along with pastries, bagels, cinnamon rolls, fruit, cereal, and fresh ground coffee. The breakfast area is clean and well-maintained. Items can run low later in the morning, so arriving early is advisable. There is no on-site restaurant or bar, but vending machines for drinks and snacks are available. Several dining options are within a short walk, including a Starbucks and Jersey Mike's directly outside the hotel, as well as Indian, sushi, and other cuisines within 1km.

The 24-hour front desk provides luggage storage (free), a safety deposit box (fee), and ATM access. Business facilities include a free business centre and fax/photocopying, plus meeting/banquet rooms for a fee. Coin-operated laundry and dry cleaning (fee) are available. A minimarket on site sells essentials. The hotel is wheelchair accessible with adapted rooms, raised toilets, grab rails, and visual aids (Braille, tactile signs). Key card access, security alarms, and smoke detectors are in place. Housekeeping is upon request; towels are changed daily. Pets are not allowed. Cots are available for a fee, subject to room type.
