Gran Via is 5 minutes away, and Puerta del Sol metro station (Lines 1, 2, 3) is a 2-minute walk - direct to Atocha station and Madrid-Barajas Airport via Line 8 at Nuevos Ministerios. A taxi rank is located right outside. For such a central position, the main trade-off is street noise at night: the area is lively with bars, restaurants and pedestrian traffic until late. Courtyard-facing rooms are noticeably quieter.

Room sizes are generally compact, suited to short city breaks on a budget. All rooms include air conditioning (the remote-control operation can vary), heating in winter, a private bathroom (the shower enclosure is small, best suited for average builds), free Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen TV. A good number of rooms overlook either Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, or Calle Postas via a small balcony - these are prized but come with significant street noise into the early hours.
