The immediate area is dense with convenience stores, fast food, pizza places, delis, and casual restaurants. A food truck often parks outside the hotel. The surrounding neighborhood is a mix of residential and commercial, with some areas feeling gritty and less polished. Barclays Center is 6 km away, Brooklyn Bridge is 7 km, and JFK Airport is 11 km. Cars are not recommended due to no on-site parking and significant street parking competition.

Rooms are a good size for the price, with options including double rooms (one queen bed) and quadruple rooms (two beds). Each room features carpeted floors, a seating area, flat-screen TV with cable channels, wardrobe, safe, and private bathroom with a bath and shower. All rooms are non-smoking and allergy-friendly. For light sleepers, rooms on the Broadway side face the elevated J train tracks and can be very noisy; requesting a quieter room at the back of the hotel is strongly recommended.
