HOTEL 81 PREMIER PRINCESS, Singapore

The hotel sits in an area known for its local food scene and red-light district character. It is 1.5km from Kallang MRT and Singapore Sports Hub, 2.5km from Kallang Wave Mall, and 15.6km from Changi Airport. A bus stop (Opp Mohd Salleh Mque) is 3 minutes away. While the neighbourhood is lively with many eateries, it can feel less safe at night, especially for solo female travellers. The area is well-connected by public transport, making it practical for eventgoers and those on a budget.

Rooms are small, particularly the double rooms, which may feel cramped when suitcases are opened. The beds are firm, and pillows are thin. A filtered drinking water tap is provided, but there is no fridge or wardrobe. Some deluxe rooms include a bathtub. Soundproofing is minimal, so noise from hallways and the street can be an issue - rooms on higher floors facing the football field are quieter. All rooms have windows, but they cannot be opened. Cleanliness is generally acceptable, though occasional lapses have been noted. Triple rooms offer more space and are recommended for groups or families.

The hotel does not have a restaurant or provide breakfast. For meals, guests can explore the surrounding Geylang area, which is filled with hawker stalls and restaurants serving dishes like Bak Kut Teh (0.3km), frog leg porridge (0.5km), and dim sum (0.3km). A 7-Eleven is directly across the street for snacks and drinks. The location is particularly good for those who enjoy local food and don't mind walking a few minutes for dining options.

WiFi is free throughout the hotel, though connectivity can be weak in some rooms. The 24-hour front desk offers currency exchange, luggage storage (free), and safety deposit boxes. Daily housekeeping is provided, but its consistency varies. Laundry service is not available, but a self-service laundromat is nearby. The hotel has a lift and key-card access for security. Parking is public and off-site, free but unreserved. Pets are not allowed. Accepted payment methods include American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, JCB, and UnionPay.
