Hotel Amager is located in a practical, lively area of Copenhagen. The Amagerbro metro station is 350 m away, putting the city centre (Nørreport, Tivoli) just 2-3 stops and the airport about 10 minutes away by direct train. The bohemian quarter of Christianshavn with its canals, Freetown Christiania, and parks is a 10-minute walk. A bus stop is directly opposite the hotel. Many restaurants, cafés and shops are within a block, and a supermarket is in the same building. The central station and Tivoli Gardens are a 5-minute drive or a 25-minute walk. For longer excursions, the metro also connects to Ørestad and the Bella Center.

Accommodation at Hotel Amager is simple and functional. All rooms come with a private bathroom (shower, toilet, hairdryer) and a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Bed configurations range from single beds to family rooms with 4 beds and a suite with a seating area and extra sleeping space (junior suite or family room recommended for 2 adults + 1 child). Rooms at the back of the building are significantly quieter, while front-facing rooms can pick up noise from the lively pub and street. The property has a lift. Some rooms are compact - ideal for short stays. Curtains may not fully block out early summer light; packing an eye mask is useful for light sleepers.

Hotel Amager offers a breakfast-to-go option for 79 DKK per person, which includes cheese, jam, butter, and coffee - ideal for an early start but not a full hot meal. The in-house café bar (Connect Sportspub) also serves coffee, snacks, wine/champagne, and features happy hour and live sport events. For dinner, reception staff can recommend local restaurants; numerous options including OISHI Sushi, Indian Restaurant Maharaja, and Café Under Elmene are within 0.5 km. The bar is a social hub hosting football broadcasts and is lively in the evening.

There is no spa, gym or swimming pool on site. Leisure options include a children's playground on the property, and the pub downstairs hosts darts, live sport events (broadcast) and happy hour. Bicycle rentals are available at a shop next door (not hotel-owned). Parks and jogging paths are along the route to Christianshavn, and the Frankrigsgade Svømmehal public swimming pool is within walking distance.

Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the building. Luggage storage is available at the reception area, useful for early arrivals or late departures. A minimarket (supermarket) is in the same building. An ATM/cash machine is on site, and fax/photocopying is available free of charge. Reception is normally staffed from 15:00 to 23:00, but after-hours check-in is possible via the pub (which is open late). Check-in can be arranged up to 02:45 with prior notice. The hotel does not offer parking or an airport shuttle. No pets are allowed.
