HOTEL ARCADIA, Rome

The hotel sits in a quiet but unremarkable suburban zone on the Via Tuscolana, a major road connecting to the GRA ring road. A supermarket is immediately next door, and a pizzeria and a bar are within a few minutes' walk. For car-free travellers, the 506 and 507 bus stops are directly outside and run every 15-30 minutes to Anagnina metro station (line A), from which the Colosseum and Termini are a 20-30 minute metro ride. The area is poorly served by taxis at night and can feel isolated after dark. Free on-site parking makes this a practical base for those exploring Rome by car or needing quick access to Ciampino Airport.

Accommodation consists of simply furnished rooms with private bathroom, air conditioning, heating, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have a balcony. Beds are two single mattresses pushed together for double occupancy, which may separate slightly during use. Road-facing rooms and rooms on lower floors are more exposed to outside noise from traffic and late-night street activity; rooms on higher floors and those overlooking the rear are notably quieter. Cleanliness standards are inconsistent: some rooms and bathrooms are described as clean and acceptable for the price, while others have reports of dust, mould, or insufficient housekeeping. The property is not modern or luxurious, but provides the essentials for a low-budget stay.

Breakfast is served daily from 07:00 to 10:00 and consists of packaged bread, croissants, cereal, ham, jam, butter, and drinks from a machine (coffee, tea, juice). The selection is the same every day and described as very basic, with no eggs, cheese, fresh fruit, or toaster. For guests departing early, a breakfast bag can be requested at least one day in advance. There are no on-site restaurant or bar facilities for lunch or dinner, but a pizzeria is located next door and a supermarket is adjacent for self-catering. A vending machine for drinks is available in the hotel.
