HOTEL BETT UND BUCH, Berlin

The hotel sits in a central Köpenick location, close to a tram stop that provides fast links to Adlershof, Schöneberg, and Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). The Altstadt Köpenick with its cobbled streets, restaurants, and the Müggelspree riverfront is reachable on foot in about 10 minutes. For nature lovers, the Müggelsee lake and surrounding parkland are a short tram or bus ride away. The East Side Gallery is 12 km from the property, while Alexanderplatz and the TV Tower can be reached via tram and S-Bahn in around 30-40 minutes. The area is a quiet residential neighbourhood with its own bakeries, cafés, and a supermarket within a few minutes' walk - good for self-catering.

Each room is individually decorated around a famous author, with a selection of their books provided in the room. Room types include single, double, twin, triple, and a one-bedroom apartment. All accommodation features parquet floors, a flat-screen TV, a work desk, and a private bathroom with a shower (some with a walk-in shower). The apartment additionally has a fully equipped kitchenette with a stovetop, refrigerator, dishwasher, and a separate seating area. Many rooms are compact - those needing more space should consider the larger double rooms or the apartment. Some rooms overlook the inner courtyard and are significantly quieter, while rooms facing the street can be affected by noise from passing trams. There is no air conditioning; a fan is provided in each room. Rooms on the upper floors are accessed via stairs as there is no lift.

Breakfast is not included in the room rate but can be ordered individually from the house café Baguette und Buch, which is open daily from 07:00 (08:00 on weekends) to 18:00. The café offers a choice of freshly made baguettes, pastries, soups, and Flammkuchen at reasonable prices. Guests can compile their own breakfast selection á la carte rather than committing to a set buffet. The same café also functions as a restaurant serving vegetarian and vegan dishes in a modern, family-friendly setting. For other dining options, several restaurants, cafés, and an ice cream parlour are within a 5-10 minute walk in the Köpenick Old Town, including Mutter Lustig and Wieduwilt & Krause. The hotel does not have a bar aside from the café's service.

Free high-speed WiFi is available throughout the hotel. Daily housekeeping is included in the rate. Luggage storage is available free of charge, useful for early arrivals or late departures. The hotel also offers meeting and banquet facilities for an additional charge. Reception services include invoice provision, and a key box system enables self-check-in for late arrivals. Accessible parking spots are available off-site, and street parking can be found in the surrounding residential area at no cost, though availability is limited and reservation is not possible. The property accepts all major credit and debit cards including American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Diners Club. Safety features include CCTV outside, smoke alarms, and key-card access. There is no spa, swimming pool, or fitness centre on site.
