HOTEL ESCALA COLONIA ROMA, Mexico City

The hotel is in Roma Norte, a highly walkable and safe neighbourhood filled with tree-lined streets, coffee shops, and dining options. Benito Juarez International Airport is 12 km away. Key attractions include The Angel of Independence (3 km), Chapultepec Castle (4 km), and Zocalo Square (5 km). A metro station (line 3) is less than a 5-minute walk, providing easy access across Mexico City. A taco stand and an Oxxo convenience store are right near the hotel. Uber is readily available. The immediate area is busy with street food, but the hotel itself sits on a big, relatively quiet street.

Rooms are single rooms with one queen-sized bed, a private bathroom with a shower, free toiletries, a wardrobe, a safe, and a flat-screen TV with streaming platforms (including Netflix). USB ports (type A and C) are available. There is no air conditioning - a roof fan is provided - and no kettle or minibar. Some rooms face an interior courtyard, while others open onto the hallway; hallway-facing rooms are significantly noisier. Ground-floor rooms near the reception can be particularly loud and lack privacy. The property is newly renovated with a minimalist design that feels clean and modern but basic - suited to short stays and budget-conscious travellers who prioritise location and cleanliness over luxury.

No on-site dining or food service is available. However, Roma Norte is known for its vibrant food scene. Within a 5-minute walk, there are multiple taco stands, cafés, and restaurants serving a variety of cuisines including Thai-Viet, seafood, bagels, and hearty tortas. A convenience store (Oxxo) is next door for drinks, snacks, and essentials. For a fuller meal, options are abundant within a short distance.
