HOTEL IL PAPAVERO, Rome

The hotel sits 600 metres from Via Nazionale, one of Rome's main shopping streets. The Colosseum and Trevi Fountain are each about a 20-minute walk away; Villa Borghese is 15 minutes on foot. Castro Pretorio and Repubblica metro stations are within walking distance, providing direct connections across the city. The neighbourhood is safe and lively, with many restaurants, cafés, and supermarkets just steps away.

Rooms are clean but basic; some are compact, especially street-facing units which can be noisy due to thin walls and single-glazed windows. Courtyard-facing rooms offer a quieter stay. All rooms include a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, and free toiletries. Amenities include a fridge and kettle on request. Daily housekeeping is provided. Air conditioning is available at EUR 10 per night, but must be requested in advance. Some rooms have a small balcony. Room types include single, twin, triple, and quadruple.

The hotel does not have an on-site restaurant or offer breakfast. The surrounding streets, however, are filled with dining options within a 300-metre walk: steakhouses, Italian trattorias, pizzerias, and cafés. Reception staff are happy to recommend local eateries and provide a city map.

Check-in is from 14:00 to 00:00, check-out until 10:30. Late check-in after midnight incurs a EUR 30 cash fee and requires prior arrangement. Parking is not available. The hotel provides a free safety deposit box, daily housekeeping, and luggage storage. Additional services include fax/photocopying for a charge. The building has 24-hour security, CCTV, and key access. Pets are not allowed. The friendly staff offer free city maps and sightseeing tips.
