HOTEL MESSE AM FUNKTURM, Berlin

The Messe Nord/ICC S-Bahn station is right beside the hotel, giving direct rail access to the Olympic Stadium in about 10 minutes and to central Berlin. A bus stop is a minute away, and the A100 motorway is reachable within three minutes by car. The area has a traditional West Berlin character with a park and lake nearby, plus several casual dining options, a minimarket, and a supermarket within walking distance. For those attending events at the ICC or Messe Berlin, the exhibition centre is a short walk. The central bus station (ZOB) is also very close, making the hotel a practical base for coach travel.

Rooms are straightforward and functional, each with a TV and a private bathroom with shower, toilet, and complimentary toiletries. Some rooms also have a sofa bed. The property is older and the furnishings are worn; mattresses can be thin with noticeable springs, and rooms are generally small - twin-bedded rooms can feel especially tight. There is no air conditioning, and sound insulation is poor: noise from neighbouring rooms, the S-Bahn, and the A100 motorway can be heard. Floors may squeak and some bathrooms are very compact, sometimes with a toilet positioned awkwardly. Rooms on the inner courtyard can be quieter but may pick up early-morning bin collection noise. For better sleep, consider bringing earplugs and selecting a room away from the main road.

The hotel does not offer breakfast or a restaurant. A kettle can be placed in the room upon request. Several dining options are within a short walk, including an Indian restaurant immediately next to the hotel, a Mexican diner (Cancun), a piano café, and various Asian and fast-food places. A minimarket and a larger supermarket are also nearby for self-catering snacks and drinks. The piano café about 150 m away is recommended by the hotel for breakfast, but note that this is an external venue.
