HOTEL MINA, Mexico City

Hotel Mina is situated on a busy street in the heart of Mexico City, only a 10-minute walk from Insurgentes Avenue and Revolución Metro Station, and 500 metres from Paseo de la Reforma. The Palace of Fine Arts and Alameda Park are 1 km away; Zócalo Main Square and the historic centre can be reached in less than 10 minutes by car or about 20 minutes on foot. The Metrobús line 1 station is one block away, making it easy to reach Chapultepec Park, the Museum Zone and other Reforma landmarks in a short ride. The surrounding blocks contain a concentration of restaurants including Veguerreo and El Porton, an OXXO convenience store, a pharmacy, a bakery and a laundromat within 500 metres. However, the immediate streets host sex workers and drug users day and night, so the area feels unsafe after dark and is not suitable for families or unaccompanied solo travellers.

All rooms are private and feature a 32-inch flat-screen TV, telephone, small table and a private bathroom. The rooms are spacious and well distributed, with large windows that provide natural light when facing the street. There is no air conditioning; a pedestal fan is available on request. The bathroom is private but has no shower curtain or door, so water spreads across the entire bathroom floor after showering. Street-facing rooms can be very noisy, especially at night, and all rooms are non-soundproofed. The beds and pillows are described as hard and the mattresses may have visible stains. Some rooms have a parquet floor, a small seating area with an armchair, and a wardrobe or shelf for clothes. Rooms away from the street are quieter but may feel darker and more enclosed.

Hotel Mina does not have a restaurant, so all meals must be planned outside the property. A coffee machine in the reception area provides free hot drinks at all hours, and a snack bar plus vending machines sell bottled drinks and small snacks at accessible prices. There is no breakfast included, no kitchenette in the rooms, and no room service meal options. However, the location is packed with independent eateries, bakeries and convenience stores within a 300-metre radius, including Veguerreo, El Porton and multiple restaurants along the Reforma corridor. A laundromat, OXXO, pharmacy and bakery are also within walking distance.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Free private parking is offered on site without a reservation - notable for central Mexico City. Luggage storage is free and always available, allowing guests to explore before check-in or after checkout. The 24-hour front desk provides private check-in/check-out, a tour desk and fax/photocopying services (free). Daily housekeeping is included.
