HOTEL OWL TOKYO SHINBASHI, Tokyo

Located in the Shinbashi district, the hotel is a 1-minute walk from Sakurada Park and within a short stroll of numerous restaurants, bars, izakayas, and convenience stores such as Lawson and Family Mart. Shimbashi Station provides direct JR and subway lines for easy access across Tokyo and to Haneda Airport via the Tokyo Monorail. Nearby attractions include Space FS Shiodome, Hibiya Shrine, Ginza shopping street (about 15 minutes on foot), Tokyo Tower (around 20 minutes walk), and the Imperial Palace running route. The neighbourhood is active at night with plenty of dining and drinking options, making it ideal for those wanting to experience local nightlife. While the area is very walkable, the narrow streets can feel less appealing late at night.

Accommodation consists of wooden bunk-style capsules, each equipped with a single bed, air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV with headphones, a small mirror, a shelf for personal items, an electric kettle, and provided bathrobe, towels, toiletries, slippers, and toothbrush. Bed linens are changed daily. The capsules are separated by a flimsy curtain rather than a solid door, so noise from neighbours, hallway activity, and shared sink/hairdryer use travels easily. The hotel is non-smoking and offers soundproofed rooms, but the lightweight construction means conversations, snoring, door sounds, and vending machine noise remain audible. Earplugs are highly recommended. The space is extremely narrow, making it difficult to open a suitcase fully or move around comfortably. The mattresses are thin and firm, which some find fine for a night or two but less suitable for longer stays.
