HOWARD JOHNSON BY WYNDHAM VERO BEACH/I-95, Vero Beach

The location is ideal for road travellers: right off I-95 and State Road 60, with easy access to Vero Beach's beaches (15 minutes by car), McKee Botanical Garden, Sebastian Inlet State Park, and Vero Fashion Outlets. Saint Lucie County International Airport is 32 km away, and Vista Plantation Golf Course is 5 km from the property. For local travel without a car, public bus route 13 stops directly in front; it connects to the Indian River Mall and onward to beaches, the transit hub, and other areas. The immediate vicinity includes five gas stations, a 7-Eleven, Wawa, Dunkin' (2-minute walk), McDonald's, IHOP (0.5 km), and Cracker Barrel (2 km). The adjacent truck stop and highway mean noise can be prominent, especially in front-facing rooms.

Accommodation includes standard rooms and quadruple rooms with two beds. All rooms are air-conditioned and non-smoking, with a private bathroom, ironing facilities, heating, and free toiletries. The renovated rooms add mid-century modern-inspired decor, backlit mirrors, and USB ports at the lamps. Room sizes are generally spacious, and beds are comfortable. However, maintenance and cleanliness vary widely: some rooms have been reported to have musty smells, mould, stained carpets and curtains, damaged furniture, gaps around doors, noisy air-conditioning units, and poor soundproofing. Water pressure can be good, but some showers drain slowly. Rooms at the back of the property tend to be quieter than those facing the highway. There are no balconies. For guests who prioritise a clean, updated room over a very low price, inspecting the room before paying is a practical step.

The complimentary breakfast is described as a light continental offering: a breakfast item (such as a muffin or bread for toast) plus coffee, tea, and juice. There are no hot proteins or eggs, and selection is minimal. The hotel has no restaurant or bar, but the surrounding area offers plenty of alternatives within a short walk or drive: IHOP (0.5 km), Cracker Barrel (2 km), McDonald's, and a Country Pride restaurant at the nearby TA truck stop are all close by. Vero's outlet mall and several other fast-food and sit-down restaurants are a few minutes' drive west of the interstate. For self-catering, all rooms have a microwave and mini-refrigerator.

The pool area is described as clean and maintained, with outdoor pool furniture for sunbathing and relaxing. The pool is open all year, making it usable even in cooler months. There is no spa or other wellness centre. For additional leisure, the property is a 15-minute drive from the Atlantic Ocean beaches, where snorkelling, deep-sea diving, and boating can be arranged. Nearby attractions include McKee Botanical Garden and Sebastian Inlet State Park. Laundry facilities are available on site for those on longer stays.
