HOWARD JOHNSON BY WYNDHAM, Columbus

The standard room includes a private bathroom with a bath, shower, and bathrobes, alongside a seating area, fireplace, flat-screen TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. Linens, an alarm clock, and ironing facilities are provided. However, the actual state of the room can differ substantially. Many rooms show significant wear: carpets with burn marks, cracked sinks, holes in walls, broken air conditioning units, and damaged furniture are common. Some rooms may have a non-functional mini-fridge, dirty bathroom fixtures, and inadequate lighting. Bed sizes may not match the booking, with some queen reservations receiving full-size beds. Housekeeping and towel availability can be inconsistent. The hotel is a non-smoking property, but some rooms have been reported with smoke odor.

The hotel offers easy access to local dining options, with Helen's Asian Kitchen 0.5 km away and Ange's Pizza 1 km away. Free on-site parking eliminates the need for street parking or reservations. The immediate neighborhood has been described as run-down, with reports of loitering and safety concerns in the parking lot. For wider Columbus-area activities, a car is the most practical transport mode. Major highways are likely nearby, making it suitable for transit stays or those primarily needing a place to sleep. The area is not walkable for leisure or extensive shopping without a vehicle.
