IBROX ARGYLL INN, Glasgow

The property sits on a residential street within walking distance of Ibrox Stadium (under 10 minutes) and the SEC and Bellahouston Park (20 minutes). Glasgow Airport is 10 km away. The suburban area is quiet at night except during football matches, though some external areas have graffiti. Free on-street parking is available directly outside. The Ibrox subway station provides a 10-minute ride to city centre attractions; all-day tickets are inexpensive. For event-goers at Ibrox or the SEC, the location is highly convenient. The neighbourhood may feel less secure at night to some; arriving during daylight is recommended.

The inn offers double and family rooms, all with private en-suite bathrooms. Room sizes vary: some are spacious and newly renovated with modern furnishings, while others are compact with basic furniture (e.g., no wardrobe, only a hanging pole). Several rooms have windows facing an internal corridor with automatic lighting that stays on at night - if light is a concern, request a room with an external window. Heating is provided, but there is no air conditioning (rear rooms stayed cool during hot weather). Beds are generally comfortable with clean linens, though some rooms have had mattress or linen issues. The ground floor rooms eliminate stair use for those with mobility needs. Storage is limited, with a small desk and chair; some rooms include a shelf or one bedside table. USB charging ports are available in some rooms.

Breakfast consists of self-service items placed in the shared ground-floor kitchen: individually wrapped croissants, chocolate biscuits, cereal (including gluten-free/vegan options), bread for toasting, fruit, and tea/coffee. Alternative milk and spreads are available. The kitchen has no seating; guests eat in their rooms. While the selection is basic, it covers the essentials. Cleanliness and freshness have been inconsistent. For a more substantial sit-down meal, a Starbucks is about 1 km away and several cafés are within walking distance (e.g., Kitchen Glasgow). The room rate includes breakfast; no additional charge. Breakfast can be taken in the room.

WiFi is free in all areas. Free public parking is available on nearby streets with no reservation needed. Security features include CCTV in common areas and outside, smoke alarms, and security alarms. However, the front door and gate have been reported as insecure at times. Check-in is entirely self-service via a coded keybox; you will receive access codes before arrival. There is no on-site staff or reception; queries are handled by text or phone. The property has a shared washing machine and dryer (free to use). No lift is available, but a ground-floor room can be requested. No pets allowed. Breakfast is self-service in the shared kitchen (see Dining). Check-out is by 11:00. Please note that luggage storage is not offered.
