1.75 PARIS LE CHARME, Paris

The hotel occupies a side street in the 13th arrondissement, a vibrant local neighbourhood with a real Parisian feel, far from the main tourist crowds but well-connected. Metro line 6 at Glacière station is a short walk, providing direct trains to central attractions including the Eiffel Tower (25 minutes) and the Arc de Triomphe. The nearby Place d'Italie and Denfert-Rochereau stations offer additional metro, RER, and bus connections for easy access across the city and to Orly Airport (about 12 km away / 20 minutes by car). Several bakeries, supermarkets, and a Sunday market are within a 5-minute walk. The Luxembourg Gardens and the Panthéon are around 3 km away - a pleasant 30-minute walk through non-touristy streets. For longer stays, the area includes art galleries, parks (Parc Montsouris), and the charming Butte-aux-Cailles district with its village-like atmosphere. Guests find the neighbourhood safe and quiet at night, making it ideal for those who prefer local life over a central location.

Rooms are newly renovated and designed with a contemporary, industrial-chic style - think metal cage wardrobes, parquet or carpeted floors, and large windows offering city views. The bed is a standout feature: large, exceptionally comfortable mattresses and quality pillows contribute to a great night's sleep. Each room includes air conditioning (effective even on hot days), a flat-screen TV, a work desk, a safe, a wardrobe, and complimentary toiletries. Tea and coffee-making facilities with an electric kettle are provided, and many rooms also have a small fridge. The private bathroom features a spacious walk-in shower (open to the bedroom in some configurations - fine for couples, but less private for friends travelling together) with excellent water pressure, a hairdryer, and free toiletries. Some rooms have an outdoor dining area or terrace. On the practical side, rooms on lower floors can sometimes be affected by noise from the restaurant or reception area, and some have reported feeling dated despite the modern decor. The hotel has a lift serving all floors, which is helpful for luggage. Housekeeping is daily, though some guests note it can happen quite late in the afternoon (after 3pm) and that thoroughness can vary.

Breakfast is a continental buffet served daily from 7:00 to 10:30. The spread typically includes fresh baguettes, croissants and pastries, butter, jam, honey, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, yoghurt, granola, fruit salad, fresh orange juice, and good quality coffee. For those with specific dietary needs, lactose-free milk is available on request. The quality of the ingredients is consistently praised - excellent bread and pastries, and freshly squeezed juices. However, the selection is not extensive and remains the same each day, which some find repetitive over longer stays. There are no hot cooked items like scrambled eggs or bacon. A 24/7 self-service espresso machine is available for guests in the lobby. The hotel also operates a bar and a restaurant, both set in an attractive space, serving dinner. The menu is not confirmed in detail, but reports suggest the food is very good, with well-prepared dishes. Several excellent local restaurants, bakeries (e.g., Gérard Mulot) and a variety of cuisines - including Vietnamese, sushi, and Italian - are within a 5-10 minute walk, providing ample dining choice for guests who want to explore the neighbourhood.

The hotel provides free, reliable Wi-Fi throughout the property. A 24-hour front desk handles check-in/out, and express check-in/out is available. Luggage storage is provided for early arrivals or late departures, and a guest restroom with shower is available for freshening up after check-out. Daily housekeeping is standard, but the cleaning schedule can run late (after 3pm) and consistency is noted. Laundry and/or dry cleaning services are available. The on-site coffee shop is open all day and offers a 24/7 self-service espresso machine. The hotel has a lift, is fully air-conditioned and non-smoking throughout, and is equipped with facilities for disabled guests. Safety deposit boxes in rooms and 24-hour security are provided. Cots are available on request. No pets are allowed. Parking is not available on site, but paid street parking and secure nearby garages are described in the Critical Operational Notes. The staff are consistently described as exceptionally helpful, friendly and proactive, actively offering directions, recommendations, and assistance.
